Description

WHAT’S NEXT AFTER "NICE TO MEET YOU": HOW TO NETWORK ANYWHERE

Loyola Campus

In this semester, did you meet a new friend in class or at a social gathering? Have you asked a peer for advice on course selection? Did you strike up a conversation with staff at a shop you frequent? We make connections with people all the time, that simply is networking. In this workshop, we examine ways to cultivate relationships and strengthen ties, for personal and professional happiness. Come prepared to take part in this interactive session where we will practice being "N.I.C.E" to make connections that matter.

Facilitator: Niem Huynh

Geographer. Inquirer. Risk-taker (calculated). She is an educator and geographer by training and applies those skills to her role at Concordia University. Niem's diverse professional experience working in different positions within the university and non-profit sectors has ignited her interest in how people navigate their career paths and the role of soft skills (e.g., networking, negotiating, public speaking) in the process. She has been invited to give talks on these topics in the community and also academic circles for students and job seekers.
